a comprehensive interiors service

A personal service

I offer a personal service to ensure high standards. Occasionally the assistance of specialist contractors is needed or helping hands to speed a project along. However, customers can always be sure of my personal involvement. Personal attention can sometimes mean that projects do take more time!

Experience

I have over 30 years experience of working in the interiors business (I did take time out to pursue another career for awhile but always kept my “hand in”!). I have also carried out several successful extensive renovation projects. Whilst I have keen interest in the design aspect of the work, I do not regard myself  as a designer. However I am very happy to give advice, contribute ideas and provide samples to help you archive the interior you are looking for. Alternatively I am happy to work closely with interior designers (most recently with Bob Roach of Massachusetts USA in his Bloomsbury, London apartment).

Standards

I strive to achieve high standards and exceed customers’ expectations. I believe that understanding the customers’ needs and thorough preparation are most important.

When working in a customers home I maintain high standards of cleanliness; access and work areas are vacuumed daily. Power sanding is carried out with dust extraction. Full protection (cloth covers that are regularly laundered, plastic sheeting and masking) is provided for customer’s furnishings.

I have full third party insurance for your protection.

Looking through the project gallery will give you a good idea of the standards of work I like to achieve.

Estimates

I am happy to provide estimates for your work that will include a detailed schedule of the work to be carried out. Charges for additional (extras) work are clearly stated and the work always agreed in advance.

Invoicing

I normally invoice for small projects (one to two weeks) at the end of the month. For longer projects interim payments are agreed as the work progresses (normally monthly). Advance payments for major purchases of materials may be required. Small jobs (less than a week) are invoiced at the end of the work.

Planning for your project

Thankfully I am usually kept busy and it is not unusual for a lead-time of three months to be needed (although small jobs can sometimes be completed more quickly). It is always helpful to plan ahead to ensure that work is completed to your schedule. However projects do overrun (usually unavoidably) and delays can occur but I will always keep you informed of likely delays. I will always try to complete your work before starting other work or agree time out with you (this happens most often when materials fail to be delivered on time or are faulty on delivery).

Many customers trust me to work in their home in their absence. Holidays can be good opportunities to get work done particularly in Bathrooms and Kitchens or other hard to do without areas but planning is essential.
